Case Study

The client

A UK based, small/medium-sized business who, after a period of organic growth now found themselves growing faster than expected.

Case Study

The challenge

This expanding business already had a distinct identity and an established company culture but now faced the legal requirements and demands that come from operating with a much larger team.

Case Study

Our solution

The first step was to understand the culture, even though much of it hadn’t been put into words before. Implementing changes without losing the values that made them who they were was important to the client, so after spending time with the business owner and the wider team we were able to understand the identity, their long-term goals and what the HR demands were likely to be.

From there, we reviewed their existing procedures and looked at how they could more closely reflect current employment legislation and best practice. The result was a revised and comprehensive staff handbook that was clear to new starters, didn’t alienate their current staff base and better reflected the company’s way of doing business.

Case Study

The outcome

The client found themselves better able to express who they were and the opportunities working with them created.

This made it easier to recruit the right people and manage those they already had. As they have expanded further, they subsequently trusted their human resources program with us directly, allowing them to focus on their aims without losing the one-to-one contact their staff had come to expect.
